It's a huge cabinet. I've used the stuff on some silver dinnerware that was in a fire and it's not very abrasive.

I think I'll give it a shot.
You sure aren't gonna hurt it, I doubt that it's going to do much. I've used walnut to strip paint and I doubt that even it would do anything to steel. You need an abrasive like trymeo is using which is basically a type of sand, aluminum oxide grit, or glass beads.

I/ve never used Corncob. Currently I'm hooked on starblast which should be quite a bit more abrasive. I would stray away from crushed glass though. How big is the blaster? Mine is pretty big so, I had enough room to stay a foot away. If you get too close you can get a streaking effect which looks like crap. You might be able to lower the pressure and do a quick sweeping motion.
Did you mask the sights or remove them?

+1 Mine is silica based I think (sand)

how did you ever come up with that idea?!?!?
Gee, I might do that to one of mine....... :lmfao:

A little birdie gave me the idea. !!!:wink2: You are more then welcome to use my cabinet if you want to do the same.

Front- Removed (the little hole above the barrel if you are looking down the UNLOADED bore... if you push on it the sight pulls off very easily.

Rear- I taped off

I'm thinking about buying a blast cabinet. But I don't have a very big compressor. :(

So I'd be curious to know how much also. I have two of them. One of which sounds about like Josh-L's. I'm still trying to get the dings out of it and I think to get it truly clean it's going to take blasting it! I don't think this 1st one was ever cleaned since it left the factory. The carbon is just caked on around the forcing cone/cylinder. Kroil is working, but slowly.

I really have little desire to do it for money but I'm sure we could work out a trade of some sort. Do you get to Tulsa often?

No not really. But if Gillman is going to do his maybe we can have a bead blast party!?!?!

That's fine with me.

God, you guys suck......

Josh, I will probably be in OKC next week. Want me to pick yours up? I am going to bead blast one of mine. It is in the cleaning bucket right now.

I really like the way Ty's turned out, it looks great. I think I am going bead blast one of them, with factory grips, and polish one with some wood grips.
