It really depends on your personal preference.

The Ruger is better built. Fitting of the parts is better and the price reflects it.

The Kel-Tec is the original with a rock solid repuation. If you don't mind doing a little buffing up of the burrs. The Kel-Tec is the pistol for you.

I went with the Ruger since the price difference isn't much and i prefer the slide lock. It's not something that is necessary but I like the option. If I could go back in time I would have waited until I could find a PF-9. They weren't ever in stock and after renting one. I would prefer it to the LCP

Have both in the Hard Chrome slide, LCP has the slide stop, no last round slide stop but one you can lock the slide back with, the P3AT doesn't have that and the LCP has the better extractor, IMHO, they both shoot about the same at the 7 yard line. LCP is smoother looking and feeling and that's what I carry when I'm not carrying my Kahr-PM9 but not gonna sell my P3AT because I know its reliable and paid for, LOL, you will have to take others opinion as to which is better but either one is Good To Go... YMMV
