I've always felt that before one can get a driver's license, they should be able to show they can change a tire! Exceptions for the physically handicap and elderly, of course.

That being said, I'll always offer to help. And, I always keep an empty one gallon gas can in the back of my truck in the event someone runs out. Some places won't loan you a gas can, even if you leave a deposit for its return. They want to sell you one at twice what its worth!

And AAA membership is a great thing to have! Guys, if you don't have it, at least get it for your lady!!

Changing tires on the side of a busy road is incredibly dangerous. I'll limp along until I find a safe place to pull over. If I ruin the tire I'll buy a new one.

You'd change my tire for me, though, right?? ;)

I am reminded of something GC and I saw in town the other day. Big honking pick-up truck dragging a huge trailer loaded down with a ton of furniture, household appliances, boxes, etc.

Trailer had four tires on the ground .. two of them (one on each side) were flatter than pancakes and flopping something fierce. Guy was tooling along at 30 or so ... I kinda wanted to follow him to see how long it took him to start throwing sparks ...

Usually if it's a dude and he's capable, I'll just stand there and be his eyes and ears in case there is an oncoming motorist not paying attention.

That's a great help. I've been on the side of a highway with cars flying by, it's not very relaxing.

Gah, I've went all day without being misanthropic, but know I'm remembering how much I hate the general public. Take any turnpike in Oklahoma, and you'll see truckers stopping on the shoulder to tighten straps. It happens, straps come loose. I ALWAYS change lanes. If I can't do that, I slow way down. I've been where they are standing, it's not fun.

Then I look in the rearview and watch worthless sacks of flesh buzz these truckers from 2 feet away at 83 MPH. It pisses me off so much. There is absolutely no excuse for it. That's a human being, and you're basically firing a deadly weapon right by his head while he's trying to work. Hope you sleep well when his blood ends up on your hands, you lazy turd.

People in general suck, and they can't function in society. Every time I'm at the grocery store I get pushed around and cut off by grown women that communicate with grunts. Seriously, grown yuppie women. They bump into you or grunt at you rather than talk like a adult. These have to be the same women that buzz the truckers on the turnpike. Where was I going with this?

My sister was telling me this weekend that she offered her spot in line to a guy with only one item. His reply "Uhh...yeah I guess." She said "THE CORRECT RESPONSE WOULD HAVE BEEN THANK YOU." and he just looked at her awkwardly. Seriously, "Uhh... yeah I guess."

Last time I was at the BOK, people were walking down the wrong side of the stairs and forced me aside. Some guy became my new hero when he said "C'MON BUDDY, I'LL STOP AND LET YOU UP THIS SIDE BECAUSE THOSE DUMBASSES DON'T KNOW HOW TO WALK!" They just looked at him like sheep.

Towncar lady was a jerk. That's unbelievable. Maybe that's why people don't care about helping people ... People are so ungrateful and rude.

Sort of related to this subject, but I hold the door open for anyone who happens to be walking through it behind me and I always have. More and more often you don't get a thank you, a nod, or even eye contact when you do this. Most people do say thanks, but it still shocks me when you hold the door open for someone and they just push past you without even acknowledging that you're there.
