I had received my permit in the mail and headed off to OKC to H & H to pick up a kel-tec that I had bought from them. The first place into which I actually carried was Cracker Barrel on my way back to Tulsa. Man, some of the old "Wal-Mart walk" posts were right. I really felt like I was being totally observed by everybody. Clearly everyone there knew I had a gun and it was only a matter of time before the cops showed up to harass me!

Of course, that didn't happen and the actual trip to Wal-Mart the next day was frightfully uneventful.

There is nothing "rite of passage" about that. I've just had to renew my first license last year, it's not that big of a deal. I can't understand why people think that this empowers them... A firearm is a tool for self defense, not a toy, or a I'm cool now accessory.
