What is the lightest trigger weight you would be comfortable with in a carry gun?

What if the carry gun doesn't have a safety...Glock, M&P, etc. does this affect what you are comfortable with?

Considering the APEX kit for my M&P and want the competition one that cuts trigger weight to less than 3 lbs because I use this gun to shoot recreationally in competition but also carry it as my CC gun. Wondering what you all think you'd be comfortable with as a min trigger pull weight.

EDIT: Just saw on their site the disclaimer that the competition trigger is not for CC use, so obviously Apex doesn't think it would be OK but I am thinking this is a CYA disclaimer. People carry 1911's with pretty light triggers on a regular basis.

i was always told to keep the primary safety aka "trigger finger" out of the trigger guard until ready to fire, but the again i've always carried glocks so i kinda figure 3.5ibs

I have a baseball bat by the side of my bed, and I was just thinking it might need some pine tar. But Im worried that I might get prosecuted if I hit a bad guy.

Yeah we wouldn't want that deadly weapon to be deadly.

I don't worry to much about how light the trigger is. Just if I can operate with it.

I wouldn't go less than a 5 pound pull like that on my Glock. When you get into a situation where your adrenaline is rushing.. that 5 pound pull will seem more like a 1/2 pound pull. That is one reason why California and New York went to the heaver trigger pulls. To many LEO's were accidental squeezing off rounds during felony stops. Adrenaline has a amazing effect on people... small women have lifted cars off of loved ones due to adrenaline rushes.

A number of people have said that in a life & death situation where they had to use a handgun... that they developed tunnel vision, their hearing gets affected by shutting out a lot of background noise, ....and some people get a nervous tick in their muscles as they tense up.

"A person who uses force, as permitted pursuant to the provisions of subsections B and D of this section, is
justified in using such force and is immune from criminal prosecution and civil action for the use of such force.
As used in this subsection, the term “criminal prosecution” includes charging or prosecuting the defendant."

This section of the SDA is pretty clear. If you are justified in using such force, you have criminal and civil immunity. My carry gun has the APEX DCAEK. I also have a competition gun with that APEX get. The springs in this kit (including striker spring) are all very light and could affect reliability.
