FOX 25 Protect your guns.

Did anyone else see the protect your guns story on fox 25? In the report they said that the only legal way to purchase a gun was if you have a background check. I posted a small note on there facebook page.

"I am very disappointed after watching your story entitled "Protect your guns". In your story you stated that the only way to legally purchase a gun was to have a background check. In the state of Oklahoma it is still perfectly legal to purchase a firearm from a individual (face to face gun sale). I would expect this from a big station like FOX news or CNN. In the future if you are going to air a story involving the rights of Americans please do you research and know the facts. I have watched FOX 25 news almost every morning for the past 7 years since I moved to Oklahoma. I will no longer watch FOX 25 news and will now be finding a new place to watch the news that is willing to read up on current laws before airing a story that is untrue. This is the problem with the media these days. They jump to air a story they know nothing about."

I posted this on there facebook page and they deleted it after it was there for 3 minutes.

Gotta love freedom of press. They can cover whatever story they want and get half of the facts wrong and nobody is held accountable. Then the citizen using his right to free speech gets censored for being right. Disgusting.

all of news reporting is this way , half of the facts are wrong. i think they are always in such a hurry to get a story together they dont take time to do research. wish we had a news source with responsible reporters.

Yeah it really sickens me of how far the media can go. It doesn't matter how much their facts lie they will still put it on there. But someone tries to post their thoughts on it and that gets deleted. Just another thing wrong with this nation.

I posted the same observation about the inaccuracy, but without the "I'll never watch you again" part. (which wouldn't be true anyway.) I just pointed out the error in the report. Let's see if they delete my comment also.

Well, it's been on their Facebook page for 90 minutes without being deleted...

I wrote: "Just watched the Fox 25 feature on "Protect Your Guns". Please note that Oklahoma law does not require background checks on sales between individuals, as your feature stated. Just thought you'd like to get it right on this important issue for Oklahoma."

After listening to the report several times, I don't think the reporter actually said what she is quoted as saying... I may have missed the word "only" when dealing with FTF purchase of firearms...

All in all, it was a weak story about putting your new handgun in a "safe" when it is left at home...
