My son bought one of these the other day. I got to put a few rounds through it this afternoon. Really nice little gun. I figured it would be pretty snappy since it is so light, but no more than my 1911. At about 20 yards I could make my little swinger squirrel target swing quite nicely.

Love mine! I like the fiber optic front sight. Bad thing is now i want a 3.8 XDM 45! Wish i could find one with night sites. For some reason from my shooting experiance the 40 S&W versions are way more snappier than there 45 acp brothers.

I originally bought my XDs in Bi-tone because that is all the LGS had. Two days later when I made it to the store two black models arrived, I changed my mind. I am not generally a fan of stainless just for conceal-ability of my edc. Secondly, it was much easier (for me) to pick up the front sight on a black slide. SOLD! I have had no problems with it yet and I am pretty happy with it.

I am in the same boat.... I thought it would have a good bit more kick as well. I did put a Houge Jr. sleeve grip on it. It does give a better sense of a secure grip. I have large hands and can barely fit two fingers under the trigger guard. I am waiting on my two seven round mags to arrive!

Mike.... I have the XDm 3.8 .45 with trijicon sights as well. a fine shooting gun out of the box! The only thing I am doing is adding a new trigger. It takes the pull down to 4 to 6 lbs. and considerably lessens the travel.

I added the pearce grip extensions as well as Talon's rubber stick on grips. It makes a world of difference!

jhopkins.... I use a OWB leather by Walthrop holsters. A Pro tuck IWB and a Clip and go by Harwell Holsters in Stillwater. The clip and go is very comfortable. All less than 55.00 and no waiting..... all in stock.

I have a trimmed pearce extender on mine also and it is much better. I have thought about the grip tape but I didn't know if it would end up getting sticky or if everything would stick to it. I had a Houge overmold stock stock before and I hated it, wouldnt want the xds to have that same feel.
I will have to check out the holsters, thanks for the info.
