This is an important Bill, in that it will make our state schools a LOT safer....they will change from "sitting duck zones" to "better not go there zones" from the point of view of the sick, evil killers who prey on school kids and teachers for their own egos.

From a national cultural standpoint, this bill, if passed, will strike at the heart of the fiction perpetrated by the elite, fascist left, that guns are evil and ANY MENTION of guns is strictly forbidden. They are deliberately conducting a PR campaign in our schools to brainwash our kids so that they grow up believing that nobody in their right mind will want to own an evil gun!

IMHO, this is why the leftys are going to try and influence senators like Sen. Ford, etc. so that this Bill does not pass. They cannot afford to have our kids grow up and think of guns as useful tools in the hands of good people! If the leftys succeed, then 2A would be removed from the Constitution by the next generation with a senate vote. You can already see the fringe leftys screaming that 2A itself is evil! Please consider calling your state congressman & senator to push this important Bill.

:)

I wonder if this will have any effect on those teacher/student relationships.... I mean a hot teacher is good, but a hot teacher with a gun is awesome.

This is attached to SB408. The Senate author is Senator Susan G. Paddack - District 13. (405) 521-5541. She may have the ability to deny it going back to the Senate floor for a vote. Please contact her and let her know, that the kids deserve a vote, the whole Senate should vote on this matter.

SB408 passed the Senate with zero NAYS on 3/05/2013 (w/o this amendment).

School board members that oppose this are cowards. Stand in front of the parents that elected you and tell them you do not want the children to be safe....and loose the next election.

If teachers or administrators are going to carry or have access to firearms in schools they should be required to have some real trainning and qualify yearly. Some of the specifics should be left to each district but I would be more comfortable if teachers/administrators have access instead of carrying.....biometric safes maybe?

Do you trust the teachers with your kids?

Thats a tough one, my kids go to school in a small town. I know all of the teachers very well, some are equipped to handle a high stress situation well and some are not. Remember also most school shootings have been done by students. We don't want to do anything that might make a situation worse. Imagine the mileage the antis and grabbers would get from a situation where a teacher was disarmed and students hurt with that weapon. I think we have to be selective about who has a firearm and have a good policy on access when we are talking about schools.

Do you take your kids to the gun range? Do you cringe and try to hide them away when you see someone open carrying? Are you nervous allowing your kids in public for fear there may be someone you don't know carrying concealed? Are you afraid to be around kids when carrying?
