Seemed really appropriate to sign everything on 11 November. Dropped in the mail today.

Ordered a Springfield; that's what's available right now, according to the order page.

Posting this so everyone can see how long it's taking these days.

I ordered a Service Grade. I'm not going to be a collector. I just wanted a shooter. Been craving one for years, but never had the cash at the right time.

Some of the SG SA M1's coming out of the CMP now have been very interesting - they're Army-returned WW2 mixmasters with original barrels  which would make a very good basis for a "correcting" of a WW2 M1. Especially if it's a late-war issue. I'd love to get such a rifle in the mail, but with the 3-4 month wait, they could easily be on another batch of Greek or Turkish returns when my order came up.

Keep your fingers crossed!

I don't think it is taking all that long from CMP at this time. I ordered Service Grade HRA on 8/18/13 and got offer to switch to Springfield and had it by 10/23/13. Great rifle!

From 3-4 months down to 2 months? Nice, they must be making progress with their backlog of orders. Still, I miss the days when I could order any of the grades and manufacturers (OK, not IHC - that was before my time) and have a rifle in my hands within a month.
