Seems to me you might want to look at your belt/holster combo. My P938 in a pancake with a rigid belt rides so close and snug that I forget it's there. No flopping around or bumping into stuff, and it's comfortable even when driving/mowing for long periods of time. Also, I can get a pistol into action much faster from OWB than any pocket carry options that I've tried.

If you have large pockets then a Ruger LC9 should work well and be within the price range. It has a safety which is easier to disengage than engage so that you don't accidentally apply it during firing but still large enough to be functional. It also has a loaded chamber indicator. The only thing that I don't care for is the magazine disconnect. You should be able to pick one up for less than $350 locally.

Where can I find a LC9 for less than $350???

My P938 is my favorite carry gun, hands down. They are pricy though.

Right at the top of your budget, but I really like my M&P Shield. I've owned a keltec PF9, and a Ruger LCR. I like the shield the best.

I carry LCP and LC9. Both shoot and carry well once you get familiar with them. Remora IWB for the LCP will go just about anywhere you want to put it. I carry the LC9 OWB in a High Noon Slide Guard and can hide it easily.

I have been down the same road as the OP, but I was open to spending a little more money. I have tried J frame revolvers, Ruger LCP's, Kahr PM9's, Sig 238's, and their is probably a couple I have forgotten. It is going to be tough/about impossible to meet all the requirements in the OP's price point. My most recent "pocket pistol" is a Sig 238, and I like it a lot. However, for what it is worth, I have pretty much given up pocket carry for in the waist band carry, and in doing so, I have gone to a slightly larger gun in a larger caliber. I am currently carrying either a Glock 26 or a Glock 36 (today is G36 day), and I am carrying it comfortably in a kydex IWB holster with an extra mag in my front pocket. I have read reviews online downing the G36 for being single stack with only a 6 round mag, but I had sure rather face a bad guy with 6 rounds of 45 acp instead of 7 rounds of 380 in my Sig 238.

That's what I was thinking. I carry my Glock 19 in the fall/winter with a few layers and my Shield with everything else. Hell, I tend to grab my shield even in the winter. That thing just disappears, especially without the extended mag.

Put that little gun in your pocket and move around and see how little it is
