FYI, I was just on the NRA website and noticed they had their lifetime membership cost at half right now ($500 instead of the normal $1000). Just letting everyone know that aint a life member already; I'm not yet but may go ahead and do this deal. I think its a good deal, although I'm sure there will be some that try to talk about how they helped "more" by paying the full amount. IMHO, anyway the #'s look better for lobbying the better off we are, plus its still more income than the normal 1-5 year costs.
