We were all over that range for about 3 hours.. there was a guy and his wife.. or a guy and gal..(I don't know if they were married or not) shooting next to us at the 25/50 yard range. I believe she was shooting a sks with brass ammo. I was kinda surprised when she left the brass casings laying on the ground and left. My daughter scooped it up pretty quick.. Lol

They have 20 more up now.
I am thinking they got a shipment in and don't want to deal with the situation they had last time with long shipment bitchin so they are doing them in lumps.

yep.. no more gunsmith specials...

That and maybe they figured as quick as they were disappearing.. they could get more.. I don't blame them for wanting to make money.. but.. wish they'd keep that price low.. oh well..

I'm bringing this thread back from the dead because I finally finished field-stripping and cleaning my $199.00 Royal Tiger special. As a reminder, here's what I started with:

After a little work:

I'd planned to put this into a red fiberglass "jungle" stock, but given the low serial number, I decided to keep it more original. While I look for a correct early Chinese stock, I dropped it into a '54 Tula stock I had laying around. Fits like a glove and looks right at home. The handguard is the original Chinese one.

I did no metal refinishing at all, just cleaning. The blue shows some honest wear on the high spots, but is remarkably good considering the condition the stock was in.

I couldn't successfully photograph it, but the bore is excellent. I'm very happy with this rifle for the price. Looking forward to taking it out for some range time.

I don't have any experience with them but if they have busted stocks like the one above then I'm out. I purchased 3 of these from another distributor when these first became available for around $239 with serviceable stocks. I don't know about you guys but an early type 56, blade cut stock can be hard to find.
