I got both of mine registered with their repair system. I've got to go ship them off... they wouldn't pay for shipping because they were several years old. They wanted me to buy a shipping label from them for $50. I think I can cover shipping for that.

That doesn't seem fair to me; if the free shipping applies to me, it ought to apply to you. The free shipping was in tandem with their lifetime warranty, in my perception. My sincere apologies, tR. It was not my intention to paint a false picture and mislead.

At least with Taurus, they will fix it somewhat timely. Kahr, I am not very thrilled with their products or service. We had a gentleman who had bought a Kahr, carried it for a full year and then he decides to shoot it. It didn't work. It would not come apart. This is one of many instances from them. Get a Glock 42 and go on down the road.

Can't imagine being stupid enough to carry a firearm that your life depends upon, and not shooting it for a full year.
Someone with that little knowledge probably screwed the pistol up trying to take it apart.

I have the Kahr PM9 for maybe ten years now if not more.
Have shot a kajillion rounds through it...flawlessly, as have a few other people I know with the PM9.

What a dumbass..... I can't believe anyone would carry a firearm for one year and not practice shooting it either. That's the first thing I do when I purchase a firearm.

No kidding.
All that holds a Kahr together (as with any number of Glock style pistols) is a pin that you push out that doubles as the slide lock.
How can you screw that up?

I have 2 Taurus TCPs and both work perfectly. The only thing they have trouble with is, sometimes, when chambering a hollow point round, it won't feed and will jam up. I've NEVER had this happen when shooting, only when loading that extra one in the pipe. The best solution I've found is using the slide release instead of pulling back and letting go. I've never messed with the Kahr so I can't compare the two, but the TCP has been good to me.

Looks like a pretty clear winner so far. Are there any little tricks to the kahr being reliable or any ammo to avoid?

I went to a gun show where there were three gun smiths in the bldg working on guns and all three when asked what they carry reach into their pants pockets and pulled out Kahr PM9's....the CM9 is the workin man's version of that costing $300+ not $700+
I find that you want to shoot something with a little kick like 124gr and work the slide alot when you first get it to free up and debur anything left from mfring....best gun ever till I ran into a P938 blackout with rubber grips and lost my breath....hahaha...
