Depends on what he wants it for...I love my Beretta 92A1 but it's a bit big for concealed carry if that's what he wants. After handling and shooting the Walther P99 (which I loved!) I'd recommend the P99 or PPQ.

The "best bang for the buck" in my opinion is probably the M&P9 or compact models.

I'd second the HK P30 or the USP line if the fit is right……..accurate and reliable. Pricing tho is going to be tough to find lending one to the M&P stuff.

I like shooting my fiancée's shield in 9mm if you're looking for concealed carry. Only downside is the grip is only just bearable with the pinky extension.

the browning hi power is my favorite 9mm. I have a surplus isreali with ambi safety thats shoots really well. Its ugly as all get out but one of my favorite guns. Also have a FM M90 hi power clone that shoots pretty good also but not quite there with the FN.

I would suggest the HK USP Compact. You can easily find them for $600 and under. For the couple hundred more the HK P30 is my number one pick.

That rebate looks good! He is leaning toward a M&P. CDNN has them in 40cal for 339-399. Great deal just get another barrel.
