I will post some pics in a day or two,I have it apart cleaning it and checking everything(couldn't keep my hands off it..lol )..it took my about 4 hours of looking and finally found it on the upper floor from a out of town private dealer..he just had one and it was sitting between two k98's.....the k31 is a 1937 looks like sling is original 37 also that came on it...just didn't have troop tag, which is ok for me...would of been cool, but was most concerned with all matching nice condition rifle was my priority..got home and really looked at it and found the front sight blade was slightly broke off,so I ordered another one from a guy in Europe named guisan (screen name)...saw a lot of CMP garands for 1100-2200....saw a NM garand that was really beat up for 2500 after that I stopped really looking at garands...I guess I was lucky buying a few from CMP years back before the buying frenzy really kicked into gear....I thought saving up and paying around 900 bucks from CMP for a collectors grade springfield was a bunch..lol...sure glad I did it now:)..anyway I will put it back together and post some pics "thanks guys"

I haven't bought any ammo for mine in a few years. Graft and Sons used to carry it. If you load .308 Win. it wouldn't be much cost to start reloading it. You would just need brass and dies for 7.5 Swiss.

Yeah,, it's do-able. But, a lot of folks think it takes GP 11, 7.5 x 55, and it doesn't. If you don't reload, it's just not a very good gun to buy, at least not as a shooter.

Yeah, I agree. However, the 1889 doesn't use it, I don't believe.

I had to go back and look at the thread, I completely missed the switch over from talking about the K31. Yep, different round for that one. That the 1889 is antique is nice, I've bought quite a few antiques. But no 1889's :/
