We hang out at Elwood's a lot. Seen many a homeless fight. One guy got stabbed with one of those BBQ forks when we were there a couple years ago. Never saw it on the news. Saw a fight between two old drunks there on Saturday as a matter of fact.

Yep. Lotsa crap happens you never hear about. My lovely bride was at St Francis ER for many years as a nurse....lots of stories.

I'm just thinking the location of the Gathering Place is gonna offer lots of opportunity for bad elements to walk on down to prey on the decent folk.

Part of the reason it will be closed for two years is that they are going to let everything grow in for a year before opening.

Kaiser contributed $125Million for the first phase. They hope private funds will take up the slack of $275 Million for the remaining phases of the 10 year project.
