But you know that many people do complain about it seeing that on TV. I agree with you, i don't want to see that either and i would turn the tv off too. But when the president of the United States, an african american, comes to Oklahoma with the intent of helping Oklahomans (white ones, brown ones, black ones, all kinds), I feel very embarrassed when I see that he is greeted by symbols that communicate the oppression of african americans.

The president puts up with this in every state he visits. Oklahoma is no exception. The right to protest is guaranteed no matter what state your living in.

Just think, Obama visited Durant and El Reno. Of all the places the POTUS could go in OK, that's where he went. All the rednecks driving around with their flag out did nothing but confirm a bias against our state. Good job.

No amount of waving of any flag was going to change the bias that already exists and will continue to exist with this administration. If the streets were lined with adoring supporters on bended knees the bias and contempt would still exist. Waving the Confederate battle flag at the President isn't my style but won't keep me up at night either.

Ahem....

It was a black man that headed up the flying of this racist flag...

"In this circumstance, I consider it to be particularly insensitive given the president’s personal graciousness when Oklahomans in Moore were devastated by tornadoes in May 2013.

Umm, can anyone explain WTF Cole is talking about here?

As for the flag waving, I just don't care. Did they spend my money waving those flags? Did anyone get injured by those flags? If no, then why should I care? :anyone:

History lesson? The "rebel" flag you speak of was around during times of oppression, sure, but was not a symbol thereof. The damn war wasn't entirely about slavery. It was about Tyranny and many other factors as well.

And who cares that he's an african american? Just another dipshit in office if you ask me.

PS I'm from Georgia. I still like my "rebel" flag.

What's next - Bruce Jenner winning an espy and the American flag offending foreigners on our soil? Oh wait, ****, that already happened. We're in for a ****** road gentleman.

How does one give respect to an "office" of a paper fiction? Does this office have feelings that it would want respect?

Ya'll just keep on living in Plato's Cave.

And he a wise man it seems.

“They’re blaming the racist problems on the flag and not on the real problems of America. Through the race lies the people who carry and harbor the hate inside,” Duncomb says.

Exactly. He's just saying that it's only a racism issue to those who want it to be a racism issue, which to me illustrates who the real racists are.

Better watch out. Al and Jesse will head this way. On the other hand, I'm glad TC showed some grit. It takes balls to voice his opinion on that silly flag in this state.
