The used market got a huge boost with cash for clunkers, but the other reason they are holding their value so well is because of 100k warranties. Buying a new car no longer comes with the 20% value drop the second you roll off the lot.

New trucks are outrageous. My 07 1/2 ton XLT was 32k. I just bought a 2000 f250 super duty in XLT trim. The original window sticker is in the owners manual it was 32k new. Don't want to even price new now.

I have an "expert" cousin that was telling me the horror stories. Not sure where he got his info. Your link looks encouraging. I'll be in the market for a new Pickup soon. Toyota Tundra comes to mind first, but the F150 comes in a close second with that ecoboost.

319,000 on the Tacoma so far. Still not using any engine oil, so Toyota is still my fav.

Until Ford and Chevy step up their game, I'll be picking up a Tundra next time around. My Avalanche is still going strong but I'd love to have a new Tundra for sure.

All of the tundra owners I talked to had the 4WD, V8 and crew cab models.
They reported about 16MPG on the highway.
I need the 4WD, but only want the extended cab 2 door. Being lighter it might get better mileage.
