I have lost over 30 pounds (and need to lose another 30). Changed eating habits (more healthy, smaller portions, no bed time snacks) and added moderate exercise.

It's hard to lose weight, but it's been a HUGE improvement to my overall health -- more flexible in moving around, less tired, etc.

I lost 100+ pounds in around a year. Didn't stop eating anything. Just got the My Fitness Pal app on my phone, let it calculate my BMR set on sedentary. Then picked a deficit of 1000 calories per day (7000 per week or 2 pounds per week). I recorded everything that went into my mouth and all exercise that I wouldn't normally be doing. That extra walk at lunch, bike rides, etc. Weight came off right at 2# per week for 8 months then as I got closer to the goal I backed to 1# per week or 500 cal a day. I've kept it off over 2 years now and am in the best physical shape of my life. I ride my bike as often and as far as I can. It has to be a lifestyle change. If you're on a diet get ready to put the weight back on as soon as you're done. I love taco bell so much. I ate taco bell from a size 42 to 32. :D

A.) I don't think I've ever seen anyone in DGs age bracket not only lose that much weight, but get in shape simultaneously. Really fawking impressive, dude.

B.) He should be the ultimate proof that the science behind losing weight is pretty simple. Diets and gimmicks and carbs this and paleo that and I only eat foods of this color on Tuesdays. Nope. Just put less stuff in the hole in the front of your face. Seriously. Just put less stuff in the hole in the front of your face.

And Jared The Subway Diddler got rich and famous for eating gross sandwiches all day, still being fat, and fawking teenagers. Whadda country.

Agree. Losing weight is not about sitting in the recliner and eating chicken breast because its less calories. You have to get off your ass and move, be it walk, run, cut wood, etc. Some "experts" say active sex can burn 600 calories per session.

I'm going with the last idea.

I did the Etape du Tour last month (Google it). 87 miles and 15,000 feet of climbing. Took me almost 9 hours and burned something like 5700 calories. Averaged 165 bpm over the ride. My max is 200 beats per min.

Then I climbed the Croix de Fer two more times in the following days. 60,000 feet climbed in 7 days. Losing weight is hard but can change your life into something unimaginable. I assumed I'd always be heavy. I was for 27 years. You can change it any time you're ready.
