The way I see it, even if they have arms, they have to be WILLING to fight. Like the current situation in the sandbox, they have been provided with weapons, but when US troops left the area, how many threw them down and left?

Could the Jews have prevented the Holocaust if they'd been armed? Maybe not, but they sure could've made it cost the Nazis a lot more than it did. As noted above, they put up one hell of a fight in the Warsaw Ghetto with what little they had.

The ADL may not think so, but I'd bet that their brethren who emigrated to Mandatory Palestine would have disagreed. There's a reason that they placed a lot of importance on getting anything that could go "bang" that they could beg, borrow, or make, and it wasn't because they were gun nuts.

Does the focus on the Jewish issue in Germany cause many to forget that all others who wouldn't pledge to the party and state were persecuted also? Remember what Patton said about the Nazis being like Repubs and Dems? After all it was the unemployed poor who were first put in the camps to benefit the economy followed by those like homosexuals who were said to be wrong and other religions who wouldn't conform.

Carson is wrong.

Heck-you could argue then that had the Jews left germany when they were first were told to, it could have prevented the holocaust.

I think the entire Jewish Defense League which, unlike the Anti-Defamation League isn't dominated by Ultra-Liberals, would disagree with you. In fact, the entire idea of the modern State of Israel to provide a safe, internally through welcoming all Jews to a homeland and externally by creating a strong armed State able to resist outside aggressors, place for Jews is predicated on the idea that Jews needed a well armed capable nation. So maybe if Dr Carson had said if they were armed and organized the Nazis might have had great difficulty he would be more correct but he was not wrong.

So, if our political forefathers, the colonial Americans, had not been able to arms themselves would the resistance to British attempts to quash the independence movement have been more or less complicated for the British? Truly a no-brainer here. Did having arms guarantee success? No, of course not. Would being unarmed have almost guaranteed failure? Much closer to a yes.

That's basically what John Hagee said, even put forth the idea that Hitler was "Gods tool" to create Israel.

Logic? When I heard Carson talk about this I thought that's what he said, not that armed Jews would have automatically prevented the Holocaust but that things could have very likely been different at least.
