The rear side plate screw is missing from this gun. The action will not cycle/function at all. The cylinder won't even open up. The cylinder release is in the forward position. I have to push it to the rear. Any ideas? Thanks

no squib in the cone. almost like the thing is cocked but the hammer is down, weird
i wonder if i could pull the front plate screw out and remove the cylinder and crane? i'd still have to be able to open the crane to get it out. i don't think its going to move

When the Cylinder Latch is forward it blocks the hammer. It probably is missing the the latch return spring. Remove the side plate to see whats going on in there. Take the screws out, turn the plate down and rap the butt gently on the bench and the side plate will fall out. Do not try to pry the side plate out as you can warp it.

I've never seen this problem before. I've taken a few side plates off of my own guns and am nervous every time. This is a gun my boss inherited so I'm a little apprehensive about touching the screws. Guess the worst that can happen is I'd need to order a new set of screws
