Negative on recommendations to get a red dot or scope. What that target demonstrates cannot be fixed with different equipment. It's the indian not the arrow.
Take that new rifle to an Appleseed and learn the basics of marksmanship. Start at 25 and work your way out.
Good on you for seeking feedback and trying to learn.
I second this 100%. This is not a hardware issue, it is a software issue. You bought a solid rifle, I'm sure it has a cold hammer forged barrel and is free floated. At worst this is probably a 2-3moa rifle out of the box. Keep in mind all of the scopes and triggers in the world DO NOT improve the accuracy of the rifle. All they do is provide an interface to the user that makes it easier to be consistent. If you suck with irons you will probably tighten up your groups a bit with a scope, but you will never take full advantage of the weapon system until you fix your skills. A weekend class at an Appleseed clinic is the best training dollars you can spend with a long gun. There should be one in Tulsa in April. Look up Project Appleseed and you wont regret it. You will walk away shooting better than 90% of long gun shooters out there and learn the true meaning of becoming a Rifleman.
