OFBM, been with them since I was 16 and they insure my house for $180k replacement value for $1800 a year. Claimed lightnight several years ago, hail damage to roof for full replacement and 2 hail claims on my truck. Never an issue.

We are currently with Farmers. Been happy so far. I am a firm believer that you should shop your insurance every 3 or 4 years. You may be surprise at the price cuts you get...maybe from your current insurance company. Oh, yes, you should let your current company bid also.

Maybe its the agency? No idea. We're with SF, have been since Ive been in OK in 03' and got married to my current wife. She was with them when I got here and she pays the bills so I stay out of it, shes a pretty crafty chick with her dough. Our guy is on Memorial in Tulsa about 59th. Theyve been great to us. We have turned in a burned up bathroom in 03', a new roof put on a few years ago from a mini-nado or whatever it was called, and a slow leaking pipe in a bedroom closet last year that caved in a corner of a wall. The roof was the most expensive repair obviously, the other two were barely over our deductibles, I just paid the leaky wall one out of pocket. We're spending approx $1k per 100k on the main house we live in. Wife has her rent houses and land on a seperate account because she's in a partnership with her dad and brother. My place and land in CA I have with my guy out there, an independant, Progressive. We're bundled here with SF with my 4 vehicles and the wifes auto, and also some moneymarket stuff. They were there with us during 2 lawsuits against 2 drivers- one after we got slammed into from behind, and another I got T-boned by a chick, and it all went great. My rates didnt even go up either. My SIL is an independant insurance agent in Osage county and she has Progressive there, I had my vehicles with her before I came here and switched over when we got married and saved maybe a little money.

I had Shelter for 16 years, the hail damage from the storm last March proved to be a disaster to get them to pay a reasonable price to get all the damage fixed. They were using outdated software for their claim calculations and not even putting the latest pricing for their software into the system.

Switched to Liberty Mutual, saved a bunch of money on auto, broke even on homeowners with better coverage. I'll see what the renewal rate will be next September.

That's the thing. Liberty Mutual came in way low for our homeowners and auto, but it's been steady increases every renewal. And they've been substantial. My first HO with them about 4 years ago was around $1750 for $215k full replacement. It's now almost $3000. And I just had a roof claim (that they handled very well) but I'm up for another renewal in June and I bet it'll be well over $3000.

And we've done all we can to keep our auto rates down (like adjusting deductibles and doing the Right Track monitoring) which reduces the premium, or at least keeps it the same. And now my auto renewal is going right back up another $400. So frustrating.

It's the state we live in, too much loss and they have to take rate to pay for it. Sucks for us.
