I think you have beer confused with whiskey which was created to prevent the Irish from ruling the world.

To get a good beer you either have to go to a bar with a micro brewer or the liquor store, I have not had a use for a bar since I was in my 30's and if I am in the liquor store why waste time with beer!!! They have bourbon, whiskey, scotch, vodka and tequila so why waste money on 5-14% when you can get 40%!!! Don't get me wrong I do appreciate a good beer with food, but if I am drinking bring on the spirits!!!!

College football. I get nauseous when the NFL plays, and it ain't the beer.Football game, appetizers and beer. What do ya'll prefer? The domestic 3%?
I don't even watch any football anymore. I keep telling myself I'm going to watch the Sooners, but I always find myself doing something else.
I'll occ drink a few beers for a Thunder game, seems I find myself preferring mostly dark beers, Dos Equis Amber, Negra Modello, Killian's Red, that kinda thing. Maybe Shiner Bock.
But more often than not, it's whiskey, neat.

Liquor store beer for me when at home.
Lately I've been drinking the Budwiser Prohibition beer...6.1%....dark beer not bad.
Also Carta Blanca...about 4.1%.
Still drink my Schlitz....well Anchor Steam, Moose Drool, Stella, Hamms....you get the idea. All from the liquor store.

Back in my drinking days, I would start with a 1/2 pint of vodka.
Then, a 12 pack of whatever cheap beer I had, usually The Beast (Milwaukee's Best).
Then, it was time to go out drinking. Drink beer and shoot pool until closing time (I was actually pretty good - usually came home with more money than I left with...). Drink a few on the way home.
It was nothing to kill a 1/2 gallon of vodka on a Saturday. More, if somebody came over.
I think that was binge drinking. About a 10 year binge.
