All true. But for now I will continue to save and use my money to acquire assets until I have enough to buy any truck I want without hesitation.

How about this one:

2019 4500HD 4x4 with a solid front axle, Duramax and Allison. What a thing of beauty!

Well a smart man would pay cash for it. Since I have no more debt, I pay myself $2000 a month (that used to be payments) to put into mutual funds. Thats $24k a year cash plus 12% growth. If I need $20k tomorrow, I have it there.
Plus I keep $10k setting in savings for an unexpected emergency (insurance).

Dave Ramsey would give you a thumbs up!

When I applied for an emergency loan last year,,,
My credit score was 820.

I too own my home (paid off 4 years ago),,,
And have no other debt except for a life-long student loan payment.

My bank told me it's because I use a credit card for everything,,,
And then go online to pay the card off every Tuesday morning.

According to the loan officer,,,
It's the constant use and never having an outstanding balance that does it for me.

My brother bought one of those in 2008 or so. It was a highway cruiser for sure. He had ostrich seats and all kinds of fancy crap in it.

Debt fee after paying off the house in 2008.
We use one credit card and a bank card through our credit union.
We buy everything with our rewards card, and never carry a balance over the billing cycle.
I’ve got enough American Airlines points in our account to fly us first class almost anywhere in the world.
Nice benefit.

Get a cash back cc. I’ve probaby made close to $50k on cc points/rewards in my life.

If it’s not costing you anything to get 0% money on a vehicle, you’d be crazy not to take it.

I feel the same way about 4% mortgages. Why pay that off early? Invest that money in something with a good return and enjoy the spread.

I agree on using Interest Free Vehicle Loans, but on Mortgaging Debts it is best to pay it off in case of inadvertent financial complications.

I have never understood achieving a debt free status but not being able to go out and buy what you want. You own everything but your name isn't good enough to sign for a used Civic. Congrats?

I paid off my primary home in 43 months. I paid off all my vehicles and lived debt free for a few years. Sure, you can sleep well knowing all you have to do is pay insurance and OG&E. It's a safe way to build wealth, but it's too slow for me. Debt can be a tool. I've gained far more net worth leveraging debt. I've had a lot more fun too.

As several others have said, just get a rewards credit card and run all your monthly expenses on it. Pay it off every month. Few people have money problems. The majority of people have discipline problems.
