I’ve met Paul several times as I’m a good friend with one of his former deputies and instructor. Always enjoyed him and my time at Shoot N Iron. Rest In Peace, Sheriff.
They were all good stories but as said the class lasted 10, 10+ hours, what he didn't have for fingers he made up with plenty of lung..
Yeah, he would talk until the cows came home, that's for sure and for certain.
Really sorry I missed out on that.
I know his son Michael. I took my daughter to his range several years back and after we shot our fill we had the pleasure of meeting him. He talked to my daughter and me for about two hours in his office. He mainly talked to my daughter, but what a kind and interesting man. We could tell he sure missed his wife who had recently passed away. He told us some stories for sure! We were lucky to get to share that time with him.

If anybody is interested, Paul's memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee on 45th, just east of the south end of Gordon Cooper campus.
