"By union contract, the now-former detective is also eligible to collect $79,650 in unused sick and vacation time, according to town records."

So he has been making $100k a year to sit at home - and yet still accrued sick leave and vacation. In spite of not putting in an hour of work.

This is the system we have chosen, this is the system we deserve, I guess. The more of this **** I hear or read, the more sick, twisted and ridiculous our society gets, the more I think "Eff it all," and think we should let the whole freaking place burn.

The beginning of the article blames/credits "state law" and later references the "state board." Wikipedia says Rhode Island politics are dominated by the Rhode Island Democratic Party. That's the first travesty. The dimoRAT party.

Then, at the end of the article.....
By union contract, the now-former detective is also eligible to collect $79,650 in unused sick and vacation time

Double whammy. Double corruption. RATs and unions.

Given all that, I'm surprised the grifter isn't getting much more that what's in the article.

It isn’t just Rhode Island. Company the wife worked for here in Ok had an employee complain about being hurt on the job, then it grew into discrimination against minorities, and sexual harassment. She spent many years on total disability while still on the payroll litigating it through the courts. The settlement agreed to keep her as a ghost employee with non disclosure agreements on both sides. The person in question is deceased now.
