But here is the key point. Watching the goings on these aren't protests at all. These twitter feeds are happening long after dark EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. These are straight up riots.

The very purpose for these "protestors" being there, at that time, is to threaten burn, destroy, inflict damage and terrorize. Their very presence there is by default is NOT peaceful and therefore they aren't protesting. They are in fact rioting. When they claim they are "protesting" while there with PPE, all manor of weapons, IEDs, ignoring police commands, etc. they have lost the right to claim any semblance of being peaceful and just exercising their 1A rights. You know they have comm feeds setup on twitter and reddit right? The fact that haven't thrown that IED just yet and has only yelled profanities at cops that don't deserve to be yelled at is of no consequence to me. That's reason enough to "take them at their word" and knock heads hard. When the gathering is declared unlawful it's time to let the popo go to work whether hostilities have happened or not. Their presence is unlawful and should be dealt with. Being timid, hesitant and blowing it off only fuels more of it. There needs to be consequences otherwise there is no respect to be found on either side and the result of that is anarchy.

No, I disagree. Just being there after dark isn't enough. Protests aren't just allowed during daylight hours. Just wearing (improvised) protective gear isn't evidence of wrongdoing. Yelling at cops or yelling profanity isn't enough to justify violence on the part of the government or police. Not in my mind, anyways.

I support the rights of people to peaceably assemble and protest - even if I don't support their message.

Think about what's going to happen when they ban some or all of our weapons and we all want to show up and protest... are you going to go home at dark?

How is it people were missing the lasers, bottles, graffitti etc?

I wonder why Twitter took it down, they're obviously want to shield the marshals from looking bad, as per usual lately. Being that Twitter seems to lean with conservatives. :D

I saw some lasers being displayed on the wall at one point. Graffiti was there, ok, but I didn't see anyone actively doing it. I didn't see any objects being thrown, but in the beginning, the video perspective was all blocked by the people standing there surround the cop. So, I don't know.

Now, I have seen PLENTY of people who should have had their heads cracked, like the ones surrounding cars trying to make it through streets, pounding on them, standing in front, trying to stop them so others can smash on the cars, etc. The truck in Tulsa on the interstate pulling the horsetrailer comes to mind. Those people should every single one have had a big ass lump on their heads. Every one. Eff that.

So don't think I'm making excuses for rioters, looters or the like. Not at all.

But at the same time, I'm not going to excuse bad behavior on the side of police and government, either. We need to have our right to peaceable assembly for the redress of grievances... but when you cross the line into violence and destruction and mayhem, you lose the right to play the victim.

That’s fair sounding and all but when MLK led protests he was generally wearing a suit and tie, not full battle rattle.
