Neck beards are the main issue with the ammo shortage/prices. Shooters do it to their own community.
I’m never disappointed to see this crap happen.
Why would anyone want to fleece someone in the shooting community?
If someone needs another buck that bad there are businesses hiring everywhere.
Gloating about it on a gun forum seems pretty crass.

Define "neckbeard".

Please expound on why it is wrong for a dude to stand in line at 3AM, buy all the ammo he can, then sell it for profit.

What is an appropriate markup on ammo today? Say you bought it at .25 per round?

by in large I agree with allot that has been said in the past, and comments made in this thread. I debated posting this but saw the thread about $1.00 a round for 9mm. I like to have discussions as things are not always black and white.

I personally view the ammo as a commodity like silver. No one is getting mad because someone posted their silver above spot, when they bought it at half the price 6 months earlier.

I debated putting this update, however I will make this short. So while neckbearding I was second in line and was told early on they only had X number boxes of ammo. So the guy in front of me, his wife and kids walked up 15 minutes before the store opened. Well he and his wife bought ammo. The guy behind me didnt get any. I only found this out in the parking lot. So I offered the guy a box of ammo for what I paid for it. He didnt have the cash.

This right here.
Some folks act like brass and lead are sacred commodities, they are not. If you bought milk futures at a buck a gallon, and later in the year were selling it for 4 bucks a gallon, folks would be slapping you on the back saying "smart move, what gun are you gonna buy with all that cash?"

Maybe some liberal crybaby would condemn you for profiting off of the welfare mom that couldn't pay rent, yet bought your milk and a scratch-off lottery ticket, but they'd be wrong.

Yesterday Atwoods in Chickasha had .40 and small box .22 on shelves, everything else gone. Plenty of shotgun shells. I have enough for awhile...since the last .22 shortage.:hithead:

Am I a neckbeard just because I stock up when it's there on the shelves?

I don't buy it to resell it,,,
I buy it so I can go to the range and play.

Three days ago I get a phone call from a friend,,,
He went to the range and shot all of his 9mm ammo up.

He said he thought he had a few more boxes in the closet,,,
But when he looked there was nothing but dust.

I am the industrious ant,,,
He's the proverbial grasshopper.

But, since he is a friend,,,
I didn't want his family to be unprotected.

I sold him one box so he and his wife can carry loaded fiery-arms,,,
At the same price I paid for it before the panic.

If you have never known or experienced this , .22 rimfire will not last near as long as centerfire ammo. I had a box of .22 mag that I bought new in 1996 and about 2008 about half of it wouldn't fire. I had a lady take the SDA from me and she had a .22 pistol. Her ammo was a white box with the red diamond CCI. So I don't know how old they were but, most of them wouldn't fire. I rotate my stock on rimfire and try to shoot up the older stuff first.
