We have a right/obligation to defend innocent life and property. But you can go overboard in worrying.... especially when you let media reports take the place of your own eyes and ears. I suggest getting fresh air, saying "hi" to the neighbors and reassessing your outlook. It pretty much comes down to the quality of your neighbors. They are one of the best things to be investing in.

I have been having AFIB heart problems since the first of the year, but as of now it is not too serious, at least it was not until I got COVID-19. Between the two I have pretty much been down for about a month. I am a lot better, but it has left me pretty week. Louise came down with it at the same time, but it was very mild. Now I have to get caught up on my Dr. appointments. I did end up going to the ER twice, once for the AFIB and they had to zap me to get back to normal, then a week later for the COVID-19. They were great and gave me 3 prescriptions, some of the same ones that they gave the President. I am actually feeling good enough that I got out and mowed the yard yesterday and today. Got a phone call tonight from a 21 year old that put in for the Controlled Hunt Elk Hunt at the Wichita Mtn for the first time and got drawn for a bull tag.He doesn't have any elk worthy.308 ammo and can't find any for elk hunting. looking for ammo because all he has is whitetail ammo.
He is in panic mode, but told him to stand down and see what is available after Nov 3.

If he doesn't find any ammo before his hunt, he can borrow my 30-06 that has killed 10 elk at ranges up to 570 yards. I may not ever make the hunt but my rifle might! LOL
I've been putting in for this hunt since the 70's. It pisses me off, I can't get drawn, but it's all about the luck of the draw and I understand that.
