I overslept this morning so I decided to run a few errands before I went to work,,,
I mean if I'm going to be late anyways why not productively burn a few hours of leave time.

Popped into Wally World to pick up a few hardware items,,,
Stopped by the ammo counter and got lucky.

Two 550 round bulk packs of Federal HV,,,
Eight 50 round boxes of CCI SV.

I really didn't need this ammo but since it was there,,,
I had it sold to friends before I left the parking lot.

And yes I gouged them by rounding the cost up to the next dollar,,,
$23.36 each for the bulk packs became $24.00 each,,,
$31.26 for the eight boxes of CCI became $32.00.

Well, at least now you can retire on the profits and not worry about being late to work anymore. :rollingla

Didn’t get it today, but picked up the guns that were won at the DU auction Friday after being delayed yet one more time and having to wait the three days to pick them up.
Both are engraved with the DU logo.
Went to the range Saturday to break them in.

TheFN-509 pistol in 9mm felt long in the grip so replaced the back-strap with the supplied smaller one which helped. I don’t have big hands. Fired 200 rounds of 115 FMJ aluminum case without any issues. I was surprised that it had tritium night sights that was unexpected but appreciated.

The Tristar Viper Max DU edition manual said to shoot 20 rounds of high velocity ammo for break in. 3.5” ammo capable.
The only ammo I had was some 3” pheasant loads that I figured was going to be brutal.

Took some clays to the range to use as targets in the thrower we have there. Was surprised how the gas action suppressed the recoil.
#4 shot in that load makes smoke out of flying clays!

Last week I wasted some money buying a 15-40X Barska spotting scope,,,
It's not that it's a bad scope but I can't use it with glasses,,,
The eye relief is non-existent.

So,,,
I went to Wal Mart and took a look through this Simmons 20-60X Spotting scope,,,
Even wearing my glasses I can see the entire viewfinder circle,,,
And it has a bit more magnification to it.

I didn't even notice that it came with a tripod,,,
If you extend all the legs it's way too shaky for the 60X setting,,,
But if you use it with only one leg segment extended it's very acceptable.

I'm happy now,,,

So, I got to thinking (yeah, I know that's dangerous for me). If for some reason I have to take my MCG17 out of my truck and carry it with me might as well be in a nice holster. Tucker Gunleather

" The Answer", leather lined kydex. Pretty sweet if I do say so myself. I'll just throw it in the console or under the front seat. Apply as needed.
