Well sure . . . we can all be advocates. Unfortunately we all don't have Bloomberg resources behind us . . . which is what I was really referring to.
No matter how much money one has, it doesn't matter if the population doesn't support it. That's what interesting about the concept of a society. It exists by consent of the people. In some cases this means that the popular opinion wins. In some cases this means that the minority achieves protection against said popular opinion. Money can only serve to sway those wavering on the opinions so much when that balance is tipping.

This election is going to be contentious because right now there's a big split between folks that don't want to accept a societal contract --- they only want to believe in the righteousness of their side and that as much as anything has the potential to fracture the Union. I saw a post yesterday where the author indicated that the concept of the "loyal opposition" was perhaps lost --- and that's true IMHO. No matter how much I might disagree with anyone else on this thread, I accept I am in a society with them and we need to play nice. Others don't always seem to share that opinion sadly.

Hopefully one of these days a significant portion of the 2A population will become more vocal about refusing to accept more infringement. And some how gain enough momentum that can be taken somewhat serious or get some financial backing like Bloomberg gives to the Mom's Demand crazies . . .

The single most effective way I've managed to convert "Anti gun" people to "Okay, I get it" types really is to take them out. Be able to explain safety, the laws, and not act like a tool generally --- then let them have some fun and show them it's not scary demonic sorcery but pretty dang fun when you have a little training.

People see the scary narrative, hear the scary stats and see idiots rolling AR-15s on their shoulder in starbucks, and that's the picture they get. Until people counter that with real dialogue, information and generally NOT being idiots in word or deed (especially in public or on camera), the momentum is against us. Call me idealistic or a dreamer, but I believe that if we did our part we wouldn't have to wish nearly as hard for a force to oppose Bloomberg money.

I bet the riots have brought a few folks over to the 2A side.

Owning is not the same as supporting. There's plenty of people who are anti-abortion that seem to make their way through the doors. Plenty of people who gripe about "socialist programs" but take Social Security checks and use highways.

Both the highways and Social Security have been paid for by the people who use them.

Social Security is, however, unconstitutional on its face.
