Cabella's has 40 full metal jacket, not ball, for $19.95. They had 9mm too but I forgot how much since I don't shoot nine. No 45 to be seen.

Limit 5 boxes. Shotgun shells out the wazoo. Even some 16's I thought I saw. Couldn't really get close enough to see. It was crowded.
Finally got the wife to look through an RMR. She likes her laser more.

The used gun room looked like it had remnants of someone's handgun collection. There were some old Colt 45 thumbusters, some small old Colt and S&W revolvers, I'm assuming small calibers like 32's? Three were smaller that model 10's. The three I saw were 60% blue some modern (60's and 70's) Smiths like a blued 28 six inch and a Colt Trooper MKIII. They had a Stoeger Luger and some Kimber 1911 A1's series 70 and 80. What made me think it was someone's collection is the number of the same type and era displayed in each case. They were priced reasonable too.

It would take a pretty big effort and cannot actually happen suddenly. They are not gonna use a presidential order to ban ammo and guns. Maybe more worthless restrictions, but dems like money and votes too. Dems own guns and ammo business and have lobbies and constituents to appease. Baby steps at best. It took calif a while to get fukd up.

It looked like a copper covered semiwadcutter. It was all flat nose.

The Federal government could stop or significantly restrict internet ammo / gun sales that cross state lines. Also, the banking system could be used. I'm not sure, however, if that can be done by Executive order or not. My guess is that Obama would have done it if it could have been done.

They can be the same. The term Ball is used to the describe the profile of the bullet, fmj is used to describe the bullet coating.

Ball ammo bullets are lead bullets completely covered with metal. Unlike hollow point bullets, ball ammo bullets do not expand upon impact

In my mind, "ball ammunition" is kind of a slang term without a rigid definition. I think of miliitary caliber ammunition with FMJ, whatever the standard loading is for a given caliber. It has nothing to do with the shape of the bullet, for example, Cartridge, 7.62 NATO, Ball, M59 is the 150 grain FMJ loading.

Pistol calibers are usually (always, to the best of my knowledge) a round nose bullet, but there is ball ammo in rifle calibers as well.

Here are some articles that I think support my definition:

Thanks for those articles and I think I understand. I was confused by Snattlerake's post below.

I thought he was saying that the ammo was FMJ but not ball ammo and I did not understand that.

I disagree. These days, the order of business seems much more like, if you can't get an agreement that is bipartisan enough to pass the House, pass the Senate AND pass the Oval Office, then you just legislate by executive order or bureaucratic mandate (aka BATFE rule 'reinterpretation') or simply get one of your pet judges to issues a favorable ruling, then tie it all up in appeals for decades.

I honestly believe the days of Congressional cooperative lawmaking are just about over.
