Guess I am to much of an Okie but I have never heard of Panettone until this year. Saw some at Walmart and had to try it. Kind of a cross between fruit cake and raisin bread. Wife and I tried a little bit tonight and agree it would be great warm with melted butter. I can not eat much of it but a little at times will be fine.

If it tastes like fruit cake and rasin bread. That's two good reasons not to eat it.

I like a good, real fruit cake. The kind that are mostly good cake with the fruit scattered thru. Usually soaked in rum, bourbon or brandy. Sadly most you find anymore are just nasty messes and taste like crap.

Exactly. :thumb:

Mom made the best ones I ever ate. Haven't found a bought one that's even in the same class.
