You don't watch YouTube do you? Lol

In our travels the last month or so to South Dakota, Utah, and Arizona, we saw quite a few folks that were making videos of themselves walking trails or out onto a bridge or other natural feature. 10 to 1 odds that every one of them was a YouTube contributor.

We live in the sticks on a ridge. Before retiring, I was called to work early at the power plant one morning. Our driveway is 3/10 mile long with a blind turn that has a oilfield lease road leading to the neighbors off the turn.
Parked in that lease road was a van full to the top internally with boxes, buckets, etc. and a Washington State tag. I took a quick pic of the tag and called the sheriff's office to report a trespasser, then called my wife and told her to be aware and prepared. My wife and the neighbor lady 275 yards away from our place were the only people up on the ridge and I wasn't comfortable with someone out of state being there.
I got a call later saying the two guys inside the van had outstanding warrants from different states for various minor crimes.
So as I was coming home from lunch, I passed a car exiting my slightly secluded road. Several things were out of place. The vehicle has a go pro mounted on the hood above the grill, it had 2 phones mounted on the dash, and it had Texas plates.

I called the local PD and reported it and asked if they were aware at anything like this happening.

Anyway, is there any reason this would be taking place in a rural area?

"Look at me - I'm standing on the edge of a cliff...pretty cool, huh?"
