Great love for 1960 era muscle cars engines.

My dad is currently gathering up parts to build a Ford FE 427 stroker for his ‘66 Galaxie. Should be around 600hp. I’ve been helping him with a few things. It’s been fun.

Speaking of Ford FE motors, I’ve got a 390 that’s been mildly worked over with 9.25:1 compression, flat top pistons, milled and ported heads, and a Lunati Voodoo cam all being feed by a Holley Sniper EFI system. Runs like a top. Only problem is it’s in a 1972 Ford F-250. Not much of a muscle car but it’ll rip a tongue off a trailer. Does that count?

MoPar nut here. I’ve owned a few, all Chargers, and regret selling them all.

Love the 3834bbl...which seem to be harder to find than 440s, which is odd because numerically they produced more 383s than 440s at some point.

Thats cause most people would yank that 383 & install a 440, but they would only gain about 40 HP & 50 ft lbs. Believe it or not, I'm not really a 440 fanboy. I like to get more than 7 or 8 miles per gallon. But really I think the 383 was one of the best engines Mopar produced. It would rev faster & tighter cause of its shorter stroke. The bore diameter of a 383 is greater than that of a Chevy 454.
I'll never sell my Charger. & I've got another waiting in the weeds that will become my "loud, obnoxious car" when I get to it. It will have a 383.
