Teresa is with her daughter in Stillwater and is going great. The main effect that the stroke had on her is with her speech. She knows what she wants to say; the words are in her mind, but she can't get them out. She has a spelling chart that she uses to spell the words out and that works sometimes.
She is weak and has a hard time getting around that is the result of lying down in the hospital for about a month or so. Physical therapists can work on that and speech therapists can work with her on getting her words out.
Progress is being made and I am definitely encouraged. Yesterday was the first time I kissed her in over a month. That felt good.

I'm SO happy for y'all!!! PT and speech therapy will do her a world of good. You will be SHOCKED at how quickly she improves. Scott is always surprised at how quickly I've gotten better every time I've had PT. Motivated patients move up VERY quickly!

She stood up for the first time yesterday, and I drove to Stillwater and took her to Medford for an appointment with our Nurse Practitioner. She still has trouble walking due to a compression fracture of one of her lumbar vertebrae, but she is getting stronger.
The goal now is to get her stronger, control the pain from the fracture, and work on her speech. Please continue your prayers. They seem to be working.
