I drove past this today. I'm no expert but it seems like a bad idea to have a completely unique looking house in the middle of a neighborhood.
I guess the market agrees..."30.30% less than nearby properties" (edit, I misunderstood the last sold price...but still 30% less than neighboring places is bad)
Its neat looking though...I guess.

Look around it, regular houses all around.

Looks like a great deal if you’re in the market for a Shinto temple! It is sorta cool though. You could play polo in that back yard.

Sold last in 1994 for 46K I think it has gained in value for the owner.

Regular houses around it.!!!!!
I seen the huge house across the street Ridiculous huge.
I would not want to pay the taxes or the insurance or utilities on any of them.

And those things keep going up.

Does not matter what someone thinks a house is worth what matters is what you end up buying or selling it for.

Today is a different selling atmosphere.
Houses list for a certain price then people start outbidding each other and many sell for many thousands more than the asking price.
Oklahoma is a hot bed.
Moore is a good example of this.
Ridiculous what houses will bring today.

Ridiculous what rent is also even in crappy areas.
Say SE15th and High area houses can be bought for less than 10K and some there sell for 80K .
You can get 550 a month for a 600 square foot house there.

I would have never believed it.
Buddy has a couple $5K houses and keeps them rented for that or more.
I spend 10-15 times that much and only get $300-$600 more for rent in a better area.

There is real estate math for you.
I recently purchased a $10K house and it will bring the rent just fine with minimal outlay in cash.
That is if you are looking at a bottom line.

There are a couple of homes in the Maple Ridge, mid-town Tulsa area that are similar architecture and are classified as classic Frank Lloyd Wright designs in the middle of the turn of the century mansions.

I agree though it is out of place in that neighborhood in BA.

I really like it but, the utilities bills and taxes would be crazy. I live in a bigger than two people need crazy house now.

That is the single, biggest reason me and Grumpy didn't get a McMansion when we got married. I don't like cleaning house. This little bitty thing is a pain in my ass as it is. I can't imagine having to keep up with something 6 times as big as this one. I'd rather spend my time petting dogs and cats and shooting.

There was one in Bolewood acres like that from the 50's I always wanted to try and buy. Somebody else got it and bull dozed it about last year.
There's still a real ugly one at 37th and Atlanta area.
They have built several in midtown recently.
