My trusted physician said, "do not take it"...

Then don’t, it’s always a good idea to have your healthcare managed by your PCP. If my doc had medical reasons for me not to take it, I wouldn’t take it either. But I wouldn’t refuse it because of what a layman told me or what I read online. My doc said I should take, as I work in the ICU & have no medical contraindications for it. I took it. No brainer.

Well, since he didn’t personally examine me, he’s in no position to make a medical judgement about my healthcare. I don’t know any PCP who would give medical advice to someone he wasn’t taking care of. Might even be unethical to do that.
