Went to get my fishing license renewed just now at Atwoods and saw the sporting goods employees unloading their ammo shipment and stocking the shelves.

I picked up some Federal .38 Special +P "Punch" Personal Defense 120 grain Jacketed Hollow Point. Limit is 2 boxes per person, paid $19.99 per box of 20 rounds.

They had no 9mm but did have the .38 Special I bought, 357, 44 Magnum, .380, 30-30, shotgun shells, and other ammo.

Another customer got a price check on the ammo I got and griped at the employee about the price ("A dollar a round, this is bulldova!") as he took his 2 boxes.

Dangit!! I almost swung by there this morning!
I'd have bought whatever .30-30 they were selling.
Well....no sense in trying now.

I failed to mention it is the Atwoods here in McAlester. I commented to the nice employee getting me my license (also one of the fellows unloading the ammo) I had seen lots of folks saying they couldn't find any 30-30. He laughed and said yes, and every other caliber. They get calls and customers coming in all day long asking about ammo availability. Most of the time the answer is they don't have any.

Got 4 cans of this stuff, Ramshot Hunter by Western powder co. off the beaten trail today a a pawnshop in Heavener. There were 6 cans and went home to research it a little. Went back today and only 4 were left. I asked him if there was a limit and he said "Son if I got it, its for sale"--my kind of place. I think its fairly close to IMR4350 which I have given up on finding. That's why I love a challenging shortage. It makes you step outside your comfort zone and try new things. My Sierra phone app give a nice

speed for it in 300. I have a 26 inch barreled Winchester that eats 4350 for for breakfast. If it works I am fixing to end this ammo shortage once and for all.

I read on another thread here that Cabelas in OKC had some .22lr, as of this morning. I decided to make a trip up there. They had the ammo behind the firearms checkout counter in the SE corner of the building. Unfortunately, they limit the .22 to 1 box per person. I went ahead and bought the 1 box of ammo and decided to walk around for a bit to see if I could find anything worth getting. After seeing that they had the same 686 Plus PC in stock for $300 more than the one I bought just before Christmas as a gift for my step-father, I decided it was time to leave. As I was making my way out, I saw a large line back at the firearms checkout counter. Going over to investigate, I saw that they had rolled out a shelving unit full of 9mm, 223/556, and a few other calibers. I waited my turn and ended up getting a pretty good buy on some 55g .223 and 62gr green tip 5.56 ammo for my rifles, as well as 3 boxes of .380 (my brother has been trying to find some for awhile). When they asked me if there was anything else I needed, I told them no, unless they'd sell me another box of the CCI .22! They guy just made the 'hush' sign and rang me up for another one. All in all, not too bad.

I wish Dillon would make some Dova'ing dies already. I need to start loading for .223/5.56, but the dies that I want to get still aren't available. At 10.99 per box, I figured it was worth getting this rifle ammo while I could.
