Looks like the state had found a way to collect some more funds with its new Parking Fees for selected state parks. Must renewed Annually.

it is free for 62 and older, I got mine at Ft Cobb office, they wanted vehicle registration and drivers license info to sign up. I suggest you call the State of Ok Tourism Department Administrative offices for information.

Guess they are scanning tags somehow and checking for parking payments.
I asked what the funds were used for and was told for improvements, maintenance as needed.

Just a heads up and fyi for ya.

Yep. Started last year. Well at least on the honor system. I don't think enforcement started until this year. You can pay by the day or buy an annual pass.

I saw parking meters last year for the first time at Osage Hills State Park. Irks me, really. Public property that is already state funded with earmarked dollars, now they charge for parking for usage as well.

<edit> I had a lot more, I'll just snip that out and move along... kinda like the "low oil prices hurt Oklahomans" argument I see so much.

I get the pass free. I’ve browsed several Ok tourism websites and still can’t find where to apply. Is there an office?
There is an App out there I saw called premium parking that can be used after going to a State Park once your status is verified.

Seniors 62 or older take your vehicle registration and driver license to be exempt. Fine is $20 for not registering. We are exempt, but I feel sorry for large families(8 kids) like my wifes growing up. They camped there quite often, didn't have money for vacations. I know the State needs money to keep it up :blah:blah,blah...
