You can usually get Sirius down to about $5 per month, sometimes for 6 months but more recently for 12 months. I hate that you have to keep calling at the end of the period to renew the rate, and we don't listen to it that much so will probably just cancel. If you tell them up front you are not interested at ANY price, you might be able to avoid going through all the offers before they give up and just cancel it. And of course, once you cancel you start getting offers in the mail for around $5 per month to come back.
I think I was paying $5.99+tax (came out to $6.06/month), so I used a virtual credit card with a $10/month limit to pay for it. When it hit the 12th month and they jacked the rates to $20/month, guess what happened. I looked for a way to cancel online, but it just took me to a "cancel online via your account" button that didn't actually take me to anything that would let me cancel (despite the fact that I had gone online to reactivate a dead account, and their fine print says you can cancel online if you subscribe online), so I let the paused card do all the work.

Eventually they stopped trying to charge the card, then they started sending me "pleeeeeease, we really want you back " letters. $6.06/month was worth it to me, but I won't even pay the $15/month that Netflix wants for video; I'm sure not gonna pay $20 for radio.

yeah, you can't cancel online because they want to go over all of their "offers" with you. Best I remember, they'll offer you a discounted rate and when you tell them no, just cancel, they'll come back with another like 2-3 times... they'll eventually get to about $5 per month that will be good for 6 or 12 months, or whatever they're offering at the time. What annoys me is you have to call back when the offer expires and go through the dog and pony show again to get back to $5. That's my limit though, I'm just not interested for any more than $5 per month.

Air Comfort Solutions. 12 Years ago my furnace went out. I called the old company,(unknown to me who went out of business), which was bought by Air Comfort. They came out, told me my furnace was obsolete and unable to find repair parts. Then offered to put in a new system, and if I bought the most expensive, they could start that day. Because of forecast weather,i.e. winter storm warning I agree. Later they add charges because they have to bring the house up to code, and do more work. Later I find out that repair parts were available, and that because the house was GRANDFATHERED in, did not need to brought up to code. I filed complaints with BBB, Oklahoma Contractors licensing and others. Air Comfort then sent out a convicted felon to try to intimidate me. Because I was bigger than him, and HAD witnesses, he backed down. Later, AFTER, I refused to pay for extended coverage, they told me that because the furnace was out of warranty,(3 months from installation), I was not eligible for a return/refund. BBB asked if I wanted arbitration. I agreed, but BBB never followed through despite continued requests for arbitration from me.

That's not the first horror story I've heard about them.

I'm currently dealing with a company that won't take me off the subscription list. I bought a pole saw from this company called SunJoe and SnowJoe from New Jersey. The pressed metal gears inside the case jammed and damaged a spot. I contacted the company and they said they were not repairing them and did not have the parts and did not have another one. I found a "refurbished" one the exact model on their website on which they made me a hell of a discount of 20% off the reman price.

I buy the saw and was expecting delivery before Christmas but they never shipped it. I called them in January giving them the benefit of the doubt with Covid and the holidays and the weather. They apologized and shipped the saw to me providing a tracking number. It took another three weeks for it to arrive and by that time my trees were all gone by a professional tree removal service.

I plugged in the saw straight out of the box and it didn't work. The motor ran great but the chain never once moved.

I sent an email to the company explaining the whole situation and extoling their promptness in email and phone communication and the good discount they gave on the reman product. Then I told them the saw that was shipped to me did not work and asked what they wanted me to do.

I sent another email to the company asking them why no one cared if they put out a remanufactured product THAT DIDNT WORK again referencing their customer service and my first email.
~cirickets~

I finally took the saw apart and the tolerances for the gears to mesh was at least a sixteenth of an inch. I cut a shim from a plastic milk jug and shimmed the bearing and the saw now works great. I did the same to the other saw and it works but still has that worn spot and gets stuck on that spot sometimes. A quick pull on the chain gets it to a different spot and it starts working again.

They keep sending me offers on products on my email and cell phone but won't contact me on the phone or by email reference the bad products I already purchased. They don't know I fixed both of them.

I clicked on the link they sent for a snowplow and talked with a rep who said they would refer my complaint and I should get a reply Monday the 15th.
~cirickets~

I called again and asked them to unsubscribe me from any more offers.
~cirickets~ but still two offers a day for products and there is no unsubscribe button.

This is kinda fun actually. I like jerking their chain every week or so.

Sounds as if they took a page out of COX and AT&T and other cable companies requiring you to request a "fixer" to get the best deal you can. I know several people who have admitted to me that is their job. To smooth over wrinkled customers with special offers heavily discounted and free additions. They tell me the customer has to threaten to disconnect then they are referred and go to work.

ATT.
When I moved out to Mustang I got the ATT bundle. I was pissed when they wanted $6 a month to not be listed in their digital and paper phone books, so I started looking elsewhere.
I couldn't get anyone on the phone until the day after my Cox services had been installed.
They told me that I could not cancel my services because the social I gave didn't match the social on file.
Yep. They typoed my social when I started service.
I called daily for a week, on day two, before I would give my info "to access the account", I would request that the call be recorded. I went thru my spiel for 7 days in a row, and on day 7 I asked to be transferred above the supervisor I was on with. After having HIM say "yes sir, at your request this call is being recorded", after trying again to cancel and being told I couldn't because of the social, I told him that I had been trying to cancel service for 7 days and this was my official notice that I was no longer their customer, and their equipment would be in a cardboard box on my porch.
"Sir, you can't do that!"
"It's already been done. Apparently *I'M* not the customer you signed up for the service. Thank you, have a nice day."
Five days later I received a "final bill" and a prepaid label for the equipment. The bill was post dated for a full billing period, which wouldn't have happened, but it reset during the week I had been trying to cancel service. I called them back, and using my calculations, paid the bill for those 7 days. They asked about the other balance. I told them to do whatever they wanted with it. They immediately offered to drop it to $64. I politely passed paying that and ended the call.
One month later, receive a PAST DUE bill. I filed it away with no intent of paying. Same thing next month. The next month, a bill from a collections agency. I called and notified them that it wasn't my bill, social didn't match. They never contacted me again.
The debt was sold FIVE MORE TIMES.
After getting a collection notice from the next company, I'd call and say the same thing.
Not my debt.
Apparently the sixth collections agency just dropped it.
Still $64.
But now my credit is DOVA'D.
A couple years later, I learned that you can dispute anything on your credit report.
I disputed all six collectors, plus the original ATT ding on my report as "not valid debt, not my social security number".
It took about a week and everything remotely related to ATT was wiped from every credit report I can view.
Att sends me letters once a month now to get me to come back. Can't get the letters to stop because I don't have an account. We use them for kindling for the fire pit now.
Sorry, this was quite the lengthy post, but at least it has a happy ending.
