Agree. My personal and non-expert opinion is social distancing, hand washing, and masks are the order of priority. And, I think you are right, most of us have probably been exposed to the virus. I wonder if the load of exposure plays a role in the body’s response and the resulting illness.

Interesting conversation with my primary doc a couple weeks ago, we were discussing the inconsistencies of who got it and who didn't and differing severity. He said he was reading a study on viral loads and one of the persons in the study was noted as a 7yo asymptomatic female, with a viral load 2x that of the average adult in ICU with covid! Schools continue to be non spreading environments though.

I do know the difference. I’m just tired of hearing people say masks are ineffective when it’s actually much of the general public who doesn’t know wtf they are doing when wearing a mask.

That's why they're generally ineffective when it comes to Covid. Couple that with a false sense of security and overdeveloped sense of importance, relative to let's just say..... handwashing.

Kids do have a much higher load, but could be better equipped at dealing with the disease?

Here, but occasionally There.
Kind of related, at least with respect to Covid. The wife had her hair done yesterday, and her hairdresser told her that her mother-in-law passed away recently. They had told wife's hairdresser that they were going to list her mother-in-law's death as Covid related. Hairdresser told them that if they did, they would be hearing about it. Her mother-in-law had been tested as negative for Covid just two days before she died.

Now, I wonder just "why" they would want to list that woman's death as Covid related? Do you suppose someone could have been "trying to get Covid funds?"

And, as for masks, the wife and I have worked, vacationed, and traveled through 13 different states in the last year and have seldom worn masks. As for the working part, we've been staying in hotels for all that time, so it isn't like we are isolated from everyone else. Neither of us have even had flu symptoms or even colds. We do take a regimen of Vitamin C (twice daily), Vitamin D3, and are getting a bit of Zinc on our multivitamins. We've even been around people who have supposedly had Covid and still not seen any issues.

Interesting read, healthy kids are tough. Now if we could just get the teacher's unions in the blue states to come around lol.

Nonsense.... every day people's kids are out the parents will see how nutty the left is, even in blue states. People start turning purple when you mess with their money or their kids. :D

Seems like they always forget and forgive the nuttiness around election time though lol.

An example - I watched a woman at Crest trying to open a plastic bag for her produce. She was having a problem getting the bag to open. Her solution was to pull down the mask and lick her fingers to aid in getting the bag open, and then pull the mask back up.

Obviously, her tongue wasn't long enough to reach around the mask. Give her a break! :buttkick:
