The kneeling thing pisses me off, I get that. I would have been ok with the announcer expressing disapproval of the kneeling in almost any form other than making a racial comment/slur. The guy's apology using blood sugar as an excuse is ridiculous. It plays perfectly into the narrative nowadays that all white people are either 1) an overt racist or 2) a closet racist. So blood sugar levels made it just pop out? He should have just said 'sorry, got emotional seeing the kneeling which appears disrespectful to me and said some stupid crap, really sorry..' Then accept the consequences.

This is the comment for those who have not seen it. No media attention is on the anthem, because it is now a slur and doesn't fit the agenda. Everyone should be pissed off at this guy. There is no way he should have been on a mic.

Matt Rowan when he was captured on a hot mic calling the Norman High School girls’ basketball team “******* *******” as they knelt during that lil’ punk-a$$ song that white people pretend to love so much, The National Anthem.
Your choice of words tells me you are a lot bigger racist than the announcer.

Wow, you are the first person to ever call me a racists.

I look at actions, not color of skin. Some people look at color and don’t care about the actions. Are you defending some of the guys comments? I don’t like anything the guys said.

The only thing this should be about is a grown man being vile and aggressive towards some teenage girls for no reason other than the fact that he disagreed with them.

Those girls' actions (mind you it was both black girls and white girls) didn't truly harm anyone.
You'll never catch me kneeling before the flag...it's not something I necessarily agree with...but 1. I understand why they chose to do it and 2. it's their right as American citizens.

He could've said everything he said and still been ok...just leave out the racial slurs. Everything else...so be it.
But to stand there acting like you respect this country's flag and anthem, and then talk over it the whole time it's playing, and also make it a point to disgustingly insult other citizens (young girls) simply exercising their rights and call the "F*****g N*****s" is without a doubt some of the most repulsive sh** I've seen recently.

You can say:
I don't agree with it
That's disrespectful
We stand for the flag in America
Kids today don't understand politics
What they're doing is wrong
They shouldn't be doing that

Whatever. Say what you want.
But to say the words he said...to call those girls what he did? That's hatred. He clearly proved the point that there is still blatant racism in this country and that it can be found almost anywhere.

He's a p.o.s. in my book and I'd tell him to his face if he were in front of me. He wouldn't get too far throwing those words at me.
I wish there was another way for people to express the frustration and seriousness that they feel, but this is how it has manifested. And this is what it's going to be until there is resolution.

I believe in what I believe in.
Some words should never be said.
This country is hurting.
Racism is real.
I will always respect and honor the symbols of this country unless there comes a time that this is no longer my country.
Not a single one of you in here would allow a daughter of yours to be spoken to like tha...no matter what kind of dumb crap she gets herself into. Don't justify this guy and allow him to think what he said was ok.

Why couldn't everyone stand for the anthem and then kneel for a minute in silence afterword to protest? Wouldn't they still get the press? And without giving the finger to half the country?

It hurts me too that some ignorant clown would use that kind of language, but to direct it at some teenagers playing a game is beyond belief. @jmike314; you aren't the only one who would tell him that he's a P.O.S. to his face. I HATE behavior like this. It's not like we don't have enough problems in this country, we have enough crap to try to deal with than further dividing us by the use of racial slurs. Makes me feel ashamed.

So the use of a racial slur - more offensive than kneeling during the national anthem?

Both are simply expressions, neither is a stick or stone.
