If you can fix it for less than it would cost to replace it and it does what you need it to do, then I’d fix it. I bought the parts to repair mine from grillparts.com. I think they were the best price and availability when I looked a few years ago.
Thanks for this information... I took a closer look, the flavorizer bars are not showing any signs of rusting out and all the ports on the burners are open. So I splurged on a better quality stainless steel grills, and I'll give it a good cleaning and get a few more years out of it.

Always wanted to try a BGE but what holds me back is the price and limited surface area inside. When you make a round grill, you have cut a lot of surface area out. No if it were a Big Green Brick and rectangular, I'd be all in.
I have a Ceramic Grill Store adjustable rig for mine. I can run 2 racks with the platesetter in for long smokes and 3 racks if cooking direct. I might even be able to run 3 racks with the BGE platesetter but I've never tried that. I've never needed to so I haven't bought that 3rd rack. A large (mine) will hold quite a bit as they come but it does get cramped and can be a PITA to move stuff around and really large whole briskets get cramped. Oh well they have larger ones that won't have that problem at all.

Agreed on the price but after cooking on one for awhile I just haven't seen anything else that cooks as good as the ceramic. I sold a Cook Shack electric to buy this BGE. They're worth it. Every penny...

Lump charcoal in a Weber kettle or vertical, or sticks in an offset will always produce better food than other options in my opinion. However, for good food and convenience you can't beat a pellet grill/smoker. I was reluctant to try one so went cheap with a Camp Chef pellet grill at Atwoods. We love it.

Like I said, not as good as traditional, but easy and convenient to cook good food. After this one gives it up I'll look at a Rec Tech or Yoder.

Since I live alone and don't have big cookouts anymore, I need one of the old style cast iron hibachi grills with the cast iron grates.View attachment 197620
Some of the best steaks I ever cooked was on one of those. Since the kids have all moved out, I ought to get another for just the wife and me.

I got a charbroil from target and it works great. Sad part is that I’ve only used it twice in three years. Lol. I usually fry everything. And I have an air fryer and that thing is unbeatable. I have no use for my grill anymore.
