I just bought a Dwalt battery powered chainsaw.
Spent two days cutting down 60 or so red cedars. Some 1", some 6" in diameter. Most in the 2" range.
The battery was still strong after two days.
12" bar.
I thought it was going to be a one to two hour battery but its like the energizer bunny. Only recharged it tonight because I thought it needed it not because it demonstrated it needed to be recharcharged. 5 amp hour battery. I think they offer a 10 amp hour as an aftermarket accessory.
Great unit that is light and can be used one handed easily.

I think I read that you can use the 60 volt flexvolt battery for 8X the runtime in the 20 volt saw.

I'd look for an old pre emissions stihl 026 and put a few dollars into fixing it up. Ive got 2 of them that I've had for over 10 years that run good as new. Good firewood saws and will run a 20in bar without any trouble.

Be careful, I started with a drill kit then bought the string trimmer because it used the same type battery. Couple months later I had the leaf blower, hedge trimmer, chain saw and another drill. It can get addicting.

Would buy every one again, very happy with the performance of everything.

Okay, I'm glad you like it. It wont last forever cutting 8'stumps though. Hope that's not going to be its regular detail. That's alot of work for that sized saw. What sized bar are you using?

It was a 1 time thing. Was running a 25 inch bar for it. I use a 20 more often with it now, great saw for my use

My tree guys have stihl regular saws and the showed me a really nice echo telescoping pole saw they just got had lots of power and expensive.

I got a Poulan pole saw from Lowe's and its a POS.
Stihl chain saws including pole saws, are ahrd to beat, but are pricey! I have a chain saw I bought in 1987, and it stil starts the second pull every time!

I found out I had rather buy tools, than use them!
