First gen Geo Tracker 4x4 convertible that was my grandpa’s. Still have a soft spot for those and wish he’d sold it to me instead of trading it in.

1962 F-100 Stepside. Four on the floor. Had a 292 in it if memory serves me right. It was the old feed truck on our farm. It was known as the Green Gorilla

Your memory is correct. The 292 Y block engine was certainly in the the F-100 pickups at that time until 1964.
I spent a lot of time back in the day with the 272, 292, and the 312 engines. All parts were interchangeable except for the police interceptor engines. In my 55 Custom line I'd converted the single point distributor to the dual point police interceptor. I'd have to get out and adjust the timing a couple times a night by loosening the bolt and adjusting the distributor. Finally figured out that the Police unit had a tiny bit outer longer shaft that didn't allow the distributor to seat naturally. Ground off some of the outer shaft and was in business.
Great engines in their day, but don't hold a candle to todays monsters.

I learned in a 60 something Chevy C60. It had a 4 or 5 speed with a hi/low axle. I also was pulling tandem loaded cotton and peanut trailers behind a 77 F 250, 5 speed.
