I never knew about the water temperatures.

& No, I wouldn't mind giving up the location that I took my biggest Buck.
As I don't have the permission to hunt there anymore.
LOL, I just said that about the buck as a joke. Next week might be a good time to get in there with air temps getting into the low 80's getting the water warmer.
Just so you know the difference in summer vs winter habitat, in January/Febuary, I'll catch crappie 30' deep in the lakes. There is no thermocline in lakes during the winter so the oxygen content is the same top to bottom. The water is warmer at 30' than the surface temperature so the crappie hang around there all winter long.
That same cove holds some spawning blue gill like @Garett has been catching.
They eat good too.

I only fished Veteran`s Park for about 20 minutes or so waiting for the antique stores to open and caught this one on I`m guessing about size 12 fly that I was gifted to me years ago, I figure it was the first time hit water since my friend tied it...
