Any recommendations for animal control? Prob a raccoon or squirrel- I went up there heavily armed-but he used evasive techniques. Now he’s in a fortified defensive position. Need a professional in Okc area.

When we went through this at my grandpa's house down at Texoma, I inspected all of the eaves to locate all points of entry. Once those were found, I mixed up a strong mixture of peppermint and water in a spray bottle and sprayed it everywhere in the attic. Not many critters care for peppermint in their home. He didnt notice any sounds for a few days so we repaired all of the points of entry where they couldnt get back in when the peppermint wore off. Cinnamon sticks also really help. We used a combination of the two after our house was finished being built to evict any critters that thought someone donated them a new hotel in the middle of their field.

I've had good luck catching and releasing unwanted critters around the house (possums, skunks, feral cats etc) with Havahart live traps sold at Home Depot and other places.

I don't but I guess legally you're supposed to have some sort of a Okla. trapping license but then again you can sign out live traps here from the Norman Animal Shelter without a trapping license......I bought my own.

Try and figure out where the critter is getting in, set a trap, catch it and then haul it off to a wooded area like Lexington hunting area.......for bait Reese's peanut butter cups seem to draw in possums and skunks the best for me and will probably work fine on raccoons also.

Smaller traps are made for smaller critters like squirrels.

I used to use live traps to keep stuff out of the feed barn when I was younger until I caught a skunk one day. I used a large stick to carry the trap to the back of the pasture and dispatched the skunk because I could find no other way to get him out of there alive. The trap stayed back there for a month until the smell dissipated.

Slide a dark cloth over the trap and then pick the trap up just dont do alot of jarring around and most of the time the shunks wont spray what they cant see.
