He is 80? I’d buy him anything he wants. Mount him a Mac10 on a swivel by his day chair. Mount a semi auto 20g on a spring from the ceiling by his bed so he don’t even have to raise up. Let him take anyone out he wants to inside his home uninvited. But a small 38 with light loads for his pocket carry.

I'm in the revolver camp. A STEEL FRAMED .38 snubby. 6 shot preferred. 3" or less barrel preferred. If the new Colts Cobras are too pricey a S&W is probably going to be also. This is an application I'd consider a Taurus revolver for. Yes I said it, if shot only occasionally (after vetting) they should be perfectly fine. Load them with Federal target wadcutters and they a breeze to shoot and work good up close where he's most likely to have to. The airweight snubbies are easy to carry but difficult to shoot.
